I saw a new flag of a Croatian political party on a TV news
(HRT Dnevnik, 14 March 1998), the flag of the Socialist Workers'
Party of Croatia (Socijalisticka radnicka partija Hrvatske,
SRP)
SRP is lead by Stipe uvar, who was one of the main Croatian
politicians in former Yugoslavia, publicly better known by
(generally considered unsuccessful) school reform in 1970's, and
he was the last president of the presidency of the League of
Communists of Yugoslavia (SKJ) before the break of SFRY. The
party is of leftist orientation, by many media considered extreme
left and more or less pro-Yugoslav (or
"Yugonostalgic").
The flag of SRP is following traditional socialist rules - red
flag with golden bordered 5-pointed star in the middle, with
abbreviation SRP in canton.
The flag was hoisted on a party meeting in Pula (Istria,
Croatia), together with the flag of Croatia (in the middle) and
the flag of the city of Pula (to the left from observers point of
view), thus following the proper ceremony (national flag in the
middle, local administration flag to the left, party flag to the
right).
